1954
Lou Garcia Sr. opens a hardware store on Palm Avenue. The neighborhood is going up block by block. The store serves the builders, contractors, and tradesmen who built Hialeah.
1980s–'90s
In South Florida, a rifle or shotgun was just another tool for the home, sold alongside the shovels and hammers. Lou Garcia Jr. saw where the market was going and leaned into firearms. As Miami-Dade grew, its agencies grew with it, and Lou saw a gap no one was filling: a local supplier that could outfit officers and the departments behind them. Duty gear, uniforms, and police outfitting followed. Same city, new mission. Lou's Police Distributors is born.
2023
Nick Christian, from a family of veterans, law enforcement officers, and public servants, becomes President of LPD. The mission evolves with the people it serves. Law enforcement's needs change every day, and so do the challenges officers face. Our job is to stay a step ahead of both, and we've invested in the people and systems to do it.
TODAY
LPD is a top 10 Glock law enforcement distributor in the U.S. and a Safariland Premier Exclusive Distributor. Florida is home, and from Hialeah we also equip agencies across Latin America and the Caribbean.

The showroom
Our Hialeah showroom is open to the public six days a week for fittings, duty gear, firearms, and uniform orders.
